Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
Tuesday's release of MPI’s ‘Biosecurity 2025’ discussion document for industry consultation is the next positive step forward in the Biosecurity 2025 project and KVH welcomes its release.
As a GIA partner, KVH looks forward to once again engaging with the kiwifruit industry, GIA partners, MPI and Minister Guy on this project.
The Biosecurity 2025 project was launched by MPI in April 2015 to review and future-proof New Zealand's biosecurity system and KVH gave feedback and input into the initial discussion document on behalf of the kiwifruit industry.
Over the coming weeks KVH will facilitate relevant industry meetings to ensure the kiwifruit industry is well represented in the consultation process. This is an important opportunity for not just primary industries, but all New Zealanders to influence the government on biosecurity at a strategic level. This engagement also reinforces the partnership between GIA partners and Government. Following industry consultation KVH will prepare a submission on behalf of the industry that will contribute to the drafting of a Direction Statement which will inform New Zealand’s future biosecurity strategy. A full copy of the discussion document is available at www.mpi.govt.nz/biosecurity2025.KVH investigates reports of unusual symptoms to identify and manage any biosecurity risks.
