Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
Biosecurity and pest and disease topics were blended for the KVH activity at the Gisborne Young Grower of the Year competition in mid-July.
This is the fourth time KVH has been involved in the event, testing the biosecurity knowledge of up-and-coming leaders in the kiwifruit, pipfruit, and grape sectors in the region. Focus was on on-orchard biosecurity practices, with contestants identifying potential risks, proposing effective management strategies, and demonstrating an understanding of best-practice biosecurity protocols.
Congratulations to our biosecurity round winner, Rhiannon Morrell, a member of the technical team for apples at Craigmore Sustainables.
Rhiannon went on to win the overall Gisborne Young Grower regional title and will compete with six other regional winners at the national event in September.
KVH would like to thank the organisers for support in this event.
