Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
The Tauranga Moana Biosecurity Capital (TMBC) biosecurity hunt returns once again for the school holidays!
All future biosecurity heroes are invited to embark on a mission to 'hunt' down eight of the 'Most Wanted' invasive critters and diseases along a 2km track around Pilot Bay in Mount Maunganui.
Just like in previous years, this will be a virtual geocaching hunt utilising the Actionbound app, providing local families (and visitors) with an interactive platform to play and engage in biosecurity education.
This year, there’s also a printable version available, along with boardwalk stickers, aiming to involve even more of the community in learning about the prevalent biosecurity threats in the region.
If you have a couple of adventurous kids eager for some excitement these school holidays, or are out-and-about in the Mount yourself, join this year's hunt. There are lots of prizes up for grabs too.
More information about the hunt trail and how to play available here. The hunt runs 5 April – 5 May.
KVH investigates reports of unusual symptoms to identify and manage any biosecurity risks.
The KVH portal is now the Zespri Weather & Disease Portal. Access all the weather tools you're familiar with.
