Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
KVH has been attending many post-harvest field days over recent weeks, all engaging events offering valuable insights into orchard operations and generous knowledge-sharing.
This image is from the mid-October Trevelyan’s field day in Paengaroa, talking ambrosia beetle and the research that is being undertaken in kiwifruit orchards this summer by Bioeconomy Science Institute’s Plant & Food Research and Scion. The aim is to build a baseline understanding of beetle species and their associated fungal communities that are in kiwifruit orchards, which will help identify beetle species that could act as vectors for pathogenic fungi such as Ceratocystis should it be introduced into New Zealand.
