BMSB meeting with world expert

24 August 2017

All growers are invited to hear a presentation from a world expert on Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) next week.

Hosted by Dr Tracy Leskey from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), there will be discussions on how BMSB impacts horticulture, post-harvest and residential areas in the USA, and what is being done to control the pest.

Dr Leskey is an entomologist and researcher for the USDA, working to protect growers from invasive pests like the BMSB by finding sustainable, ecologically sound solutions. Dr Leskey is a co-director of StopBMSB, which is probably the world’s largest research initiative into BMSB, involving more than 50 researchers across 18 organisations.

When: Monday 28 August, 10am to midday with tea and coffee upon arrival.
Where: The Orchard Church, 20 Macloughlin Drive, Te Puke.
