Board visits in Whanganui

The KVH Board recently visited growers in Whanganui to learn more about local operations and to discuss the region’s current challenges and opportunities.

Board members visited the orchards of David, Cathryn and Richard Wells; Graham Wright and Beth Lamb; Andrew and Tash at Cooper CoolPac; and Isaac Salmon at Bruce Rhodes orchard; in addition to engaging with other regional growers at an industry event that evening.

A key theme raised throughout the visits was the ongoing impact of Psa. While experiences differed between orchards, growers consistently emphasised the need for continued vigilance and practical, consistent guidance on best‑practice management.

The trip also provided valuable insight to help the Board ensure KVH continues to support effective biosecurity efforts in the region.

A warm thank‑you to all who hosted the team - your time, insights, and openness are greatly appreciated.
