We’re out of the high-risk season for stink bugs likely reaching our shores which means it’s the time of year where if they were in New Zealand, they could be over-wintering in our homes …..

A fact out of the USA about these pesky pests: a group of 25,000 Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs (BMSB) invading your home (which isn’t an uncommon amount) could produce a summer population of almost three million in the immediate vicinity of your property. Yuck!

The BMSB isn’t in New Zealand yet and we want to keep it that way. If you spot anything unusual, don’t squish it. Catch it, take a photo, and report it to Biosecurity New Zealand on 0800 80 99 66 or KVH on 0800 665 825.
