Kiwifruit growers know we can’t get by without them – bees pollinate to make about a third of our food worldwide and in New Zealand alone we have 28 native types.
There are more than 9,000 registered beekeepers in New Zealand contributing to the country’s $5 billion apiculture industry. Now that’s an impressive effort!
Bee Aware month is an annual education campaign run by Apiculture New Zealand and is about sharing with New Zealanders some basic things everyone can do to improve bee health.
