International flights are set to return to Hamilton in just over a week, and growers can be assured border agencies are ensuring smooth reintroduction of services.
KVH understands Biosecurity New Zealand has been working with various partners to make sure the design, construction, and resourcing of the airport’s biosecurity area provides appropriate screening of passengers and their bags.
A baggage screening x-ray unit, risk assessment podiums, and search benches are all in place; and detector dog teams from Auckland will be on-site when needed too.
There’ll be an operational readiness exercise very shortly to ensure all systems are go.
