Images of unusual fruiting bodies on fruit sepals and dead cane tissue were reported through to KVH over this last month.

Though resembling fungi, these critters are in fact slime moulds enjoying the wet moist conditions as they go about their business of breaking down decaying material.

All are harmless and in fact beneficial, so no chemical treatment is needed, just a few days of dry weather. Thanks to those forwarding great images.
