Industry engages with Biosecurity 2025

25 August 2016

Around 20 people from around the kiwifruit industry came together on Monday with representatives from the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to have a robust discussion about the Biosecurity 2025 project, with the aim of shaping a submission on behalf of the kiwifruit industry.

The group was presented with an overview of the Biosecurity 2025 project, which is about reviewing and future-proofing New Zealand's biosecurity system, and were encouraged to give feedback on key components of the project including its mission statement, principles and its five strategic directions. KVH will incorporate this feedback into a submission document which is due on 9 September. The submission will be made available to growers once finalised. New Zealand’s future biosecurity direction is important to all New Zealanders; so everyone is encouraged to engage with the project and give their feedback.
