Severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and wind, have been experienced across most kiwifruit-growing regions recently; and the
Psa-V Risk Model is predicting these high-risk conditions are set to continue in many areas (Image right predicts severe risk in the Waikato).
Some regions have experienced up to 300mm of rain, so growers will need to be even more vigilant with their copper programmes and work around the weather and difficult orchard conditions to re-establish protective coverage.
KVH has developed a hand-out for growers to help manage Psa through winter. These are available at the FON field days occurring throughout the regions or on the KVH website
here.
Growers in areas where the disease is established should be particularly vigilant. Refer to the
Psa-V Risk Model.
