KVH staff visit Kiwiberry operation

Last week staff from KVH visited Kiwi Produce in Paengaroa for an overview of the kiwiberry operation and to sign funding agreements following the Minister’s agreement for KVH to represent NZ Kiwiberry Growers (NZKBG) under Government Industry Agreements (GIA). As the two industries have a commonality of biosecurity issues, and kiwiberries are likely to be susceptible to many of the same pests and diseases as other kiwifruit cultivars, working together in partnership makes sense. KVH is currently working to determine what pests and diseases will be the biggest threats to kiwiberry and identify what readiness activities are required to mitigate the risk of these threats.
