Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
Update Tuesday 24 August: It is with much sadness that the below event has been postponed, due to changes in Covid-19 alert levels. We are working on scheduling a new date - when it's safe to do so - and will let you know once this is confirmed.
There are a few spots remaining at the Tauranga Moana Biosecurity Capital’s fourth annual Biosecurity Week symposium, showcasing biosecurity in action.
Presenting at the event will be committed biosecurity doers and thinkers from across the region and country, including keynote speakers Shaun Hendy from the University of Auckland and Neil Gemmell from the University of Otago.
Shaun led a team of scientists modelling the spread of COVID-19 infection under various mitigation scenarios and will use this experience to talk about the power of science in guiding a biosecurity response.
Neil will be talking about environmental DNA (eDNA) for biodiversity, biosecurity, and monster hunting. He is well known for a significant piece of work that investigated eDNA in the search for the Loch Ness Monster.
View the full programme here. The day includes a networking lunch and there is no cost to attend.
Where: Trustpower Arena
When: Tuesday 31 August 2021, 8.30am – 4.00pm
