Peter has a marketing and business development background and has held senior management positions in the kiwifruit post-harvest sector and the agricultural sector.

He has an MBA and more than twenty years’ experience in primary production, primarily in the fertiliser sector. He led the team that developed the PCR test for the identification of Psa-V and established a Psa-V testing service for the kiwifruit industry.

Peter started working at KVH in late 2013. His role involves supporting the operations team in the provision of technical advice to the industry and works closely with the science community in developing an understanding around Psa resistance to control products. He enjoys working with growers and sharing what the industry learns about Psa management.

Peter sees shifting growers’ mindsets from Psa to best practice for wider biosecurity as a significant challenge for KVH and the industry if we are to be collectively successful in reducing the risk imposed by increasing biosecurity challenges at our borders.

Outside of work Peter enjoys spending time with family and supports several businesses through the local chamber of commerce business mentors programme.
