The KVH Board has appointed Simone Blackwood as Associate Director for a two-year term.

Simone brings a unique combination of scientific expertise and practical orchard experience to the role. With a strong background in horticultural science and plant pathology, she has led kiwifruit research projects for more than five years, including trials tackling vine health challenges such as sooty mould and fungal growth.
In recent years, Simone has taken her career in a new direction, growing kiwifruit on her family orchard and establishing her own contracting and pollen milling businesses. This hands-on experience gives her a deep understanding of both the technical and practical aspects of kiwifruit production.
Board Chair Dermott Malley welcomes Simone and is delighted to have her contribute her insights and expertise to the Board table.
Simone succeeds Cam Clayton, who has held the position for the past two years. During his time as Associate Director on the KVH Board Cam provided valuable contributions, supporting both technical and strategic discussions with a high level of insight and professionalism. The KVH Board and team thank Cam for his time with the organisation and look forward to seeing how he continues his governance career in the kiwifruit industry.
