Spotted Lanternfly workshops start next week

From next week Plant & Food Research, in association with industry groups including KVH, are running workshops on preparedness for the potential arrival of Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) in New Zealand.

SLF is a serious invasive pest, feeding on over 80 different plant species including kiwifruit and is one of our most unwanted threats.

The workshops will be based around a webinar and discussion on SLF impacts and management with Julie Urban from Pennsylvania State University, where you will also learn more about how you could stop this pest from establishing if it happened to arrive in New Zealand.

The first workshop is in Te Puke next Wednesday 28 July, followed by Hawke’s Bay, Motueka, Blenheim, and Clyde. Times and venue information for each is available here.

It isn’t too late if you would like to attend any of the workshops. Please RSVP to info@kvh.org.nz letting us know which one you’ll come along to and how many are in your group.
