Seen something unusual? MAKE A REPORT
KVH has enjoyed a busy start to the annual Mystery Creek Fieldays.
Growers visiting our stall within the Zespri hub have shown a strong interest in biosecurity issues and the lunchtime sessions with presentations from Zespri, KVH and NZKGI have been well-attended.
Fieldays has given us the perfect opportunity to launch our new biosecurity booklet for growers, which has been very successful. The 5 step on-orchard biosecurity guidelines are a set of measures designed to protect a property from the entry and spread of pests and diseases and have been developed to provide guidance, help identify risks for the orchard and how to address them. Growers should use the guidelines to develop a biosecurity plan that works for their orchard/property. Read more about the guidelines here.
KVH is also taking the opportunity to catch up with importers of tractors and other machinery, to ensure they are aware of the risk of pest threats like the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) and the protocol to follow if they find anything unusual on any of their shipments.
Chief Executive Stu Hutchings and KVH staff will be based in the Zespri hub at Mystery Creek again tomorrow – please drop in and say hello.
KVH investigates reports of unusual symptoms to identify and manage any biosecurity risks.
The KVH portal is now the Zespri Weather & Disease Portal. Access all the weather tools you're familiar with.
