Spring Psa-V progression

KVH has received several reports of significant exudate showing on orchards in Katikati, Waihi, Opotiki and Gisborne since the weekend. This follows reports of exudate showing on Gold3 in Te Puke, and also on Matua and Chieftan males on some Tauranga orchards last week. This is not surprising at the start of spring and following the high-risk weather last week.

Exudating vines in the Opotiki and Gisborne regions were found during recent mandatory monitoring rounds. This has resulted in the confirmation of two new infected KPINs in the Gisborne region this week. See this week’s statistics by clicking here.

Exudate ranges in severity and has been discovered on several varieties, including Hayward, Gold3, Hort16A and some male varieties. Males appear worse-affected than females.
