The year ahead for KVH

12 January 2017

January provides a good time to reflect on the year that has passed, as well as look forward to the year ahead. 2017 will be a big year for KVH, as we work towards our goal of a biosecurity resilient kiwifruit industry.

KVH will continue to utilise its position within government groups to actively influence decision-making to improve biosecurity within the industry. A Brown Marmorated Stink Bug operational agreement will be finalised early year, as well as a partnership agreement for a number of kiwifruit specific biosecurity risks, including Ceratocystis fimbriata. At the end of 2016, the Ministry for Primary Industries released its Biosecurity 2025 Direction Statement, which highlights five strategic directions to enable us to meet the challenges facing the biosecurity system. This year, KVH will be developing strategies to align with these key focus areas. Click here to read Chief Executive Barry O’Neil’s thoughts on the year ahead for KVH.
