Although the national Zespri fishing event has been postponed, never fear - a condensed competition will take place in the Bay of Plenty on the weekend of 25-27 February. Register now for a place so you don’t miss out!
The event starts Thursday 25 February with a 5pm briefing, followed by fishing from 9pm through to the afternoon of Saturday 27 February. After weigh-in from 3pm-5pm there will be a prizegiving, including categories for heaviest and average weight per species, as well as spot prizes.
Species categories include snapper, kingfish, kahawai, terakihi, and trevally.
When: Thursday 25 February to Saturday 27 February 2021
How to register: Register online here by Friday 12 February. Spaces are limited and on a first in first served basis so get in quick.
Payment and details: The cost is $30 per angler - anglers must be related to the industry, and boats must have at least one grower registered. One fish per species per angler.
All growers are welcome. If you have any questions, or have spare space on your boat or are keen to attend but have no boat, please contact Zespri Grower Liaison Manager Casie Rudnicki by email or phone 027 271 2695.
